Hi, we are Marie and Dominique and we are Wool is the Answer. You may ask why we are called Wool is the Answer?  For us the answer is simple, as crafters of many things, there is no question to which wool is not the answer!

We are based in Lincolnshire, where we have a small studio in which we create our hand dyed yarns.  We specialise in vibrant colours on different yarn bases. These are all sourced from a family run British company. 

 

We have collaborated with a number of designers who have created various knitting and crochet patterns for us Knitterish Designs, What Katie Knits, Handmade by Kunbi and Wendy of Crochet Creations.

 

Although our store is online, we also run regular afternoon tea knit and natter events at Hemswell Court near Lincoln, where you can also buy our yarns. We run weekly virtual knit and natters on Zoom and these are free to join. We occasionally hold pop up events, and exhibit at wool festivals. We also run three Woolly Retreats each year at Hemswell Court but they do sell out quickly!

 

When you buy our yarn online you will receive a brown paper package tied up with string (these are a few of our favourite things!). Our mailbags are also 100% recyclable.

 

We cake all of our skeins so you don’t have to, which means you can start creating straight away.  #we bake, we cake, you make!
