This 5* luxury retreat set in the heart of rural Lincolnshire will be based at the opulent, Georgian styled Hemswell Court, Hemswell Cliff.  This is the former Officer's Mess of  RAF Hemswell, situated just 10 miles north of the historic city of Lincoln.

 

Marie and Dominique of  Wool is the Answer invite you to join them for a few days of woolly relaxation, in luxurious surroundings.

Relaxing Surroundings

We want you to do as little or as much as you would like to during your time away.  We will have exclusive access to Hemswell Court, and all it's formal gardens and woodland. 

We want you to make this a home from home.  The only timetable you need to worry about is the delicious meal times!

During the retreat you will have exclusive use of several rooms including the Drawing Room, with its very own large Georgian fireplace and beautiful windows overlooking the attractive landscaped gardens.  Relax in one of the many comfy sofas or sit in the large dining room adjacent to the drawing room.

You will also have access to a spacious television room with comfy sofas to relax on .

You will be able to purchase goods from the pop up Wool is the Answer shop.

The Retreat

Arrival is from 3pm on Day 1 where you will receive complimentary refreshments of tea, coffee and delicious homemade cakes.

 

You will receive a complimentary goodie bag which will include some of our yarn.

There will be plenty of time to meet your fellow guests, cast on a new project or work on your current project, whether  it's knitting, crocheting or whatever you want to bring.

The evening meal will be a hot buffet. 

Day 2 will start with a delicious home cooked breakfast and then you can chose how the rest of the day goes, sit and relax and work on your projects, take a walk around the beautiful grounds or simply enjoy the surroundings.  The only thing you need to plan for is lunch

There will be a plentiful supply of refreshments, including tea, coffee and juice with biscuits, fruit and homemade cakes throughout the day.

The bar is also open and available for you to purchase any other drinks throughout the day too.

 

Your evening meal will be a three course meal with locally sourced ingredients, followed by coffee and chocolates.  Hemswell Court is renowned for it's delicious fine dining.

 

Day 3 will follow the same itinerary as Day 2, you are free to come and go as you please, lunch time will again be set 

 

Your evening meal will again be a three course meal followed by coffee and chocolates.

 

On Day 4 you will enjoy a home cooked breakfast before checking out at 10am.

The Bedrooms

There are different rooms available for you to book, double rooms, twin rooms or family rooms.

Prices start from £610 per person.

There will also be a choice of ground or first floor locations.

The prices shown are per room and based on either single or double occupancy.

If you require double occupancy for a double room please email for prices

All bedrooms are very well appointed and have been awarded an AA gold star.

The rooms are all en-suite and have tea and coffee making facilities, a television as well as complimentary toiletries, slippers and the use of luxurious bathrobes.

 

Free Wi-Fi is available throughout Hemswell Court including the bedrooms.

Please be aware that there are no lift facilities on the premises

Further Information

The cost of your retreat includes your accommodation, all of your meals and an endless supply of tea and coffee as well as a complimentary yarny gift bag.  

 

Please note that NO transport is included, you will need to make your own travel arrangements. 

The nearest train stations are Gainsborough (9 miles away) and Lincoln (13 miles away) a taxi to either will cost approximately £25

 There is ample parking available to guests.

Booking Terms and Conditions. Please read before booking

 

Please read this section carefully; by making a booking you agree to these terms and conditions.  It is your responsibility as the booker to make any other guests in your party aware of them.  

 

Pricing

All prices quoted are in UK pounds sterling.  We guarantee that the price we quote for this retreat and subsequently ask you to pay, will not increase once we have accepted your booking. 

The total price for your retreat includes accommodation, all meals and tea/coffee/cake during the day, along with a complimentary goody bag.  Any purchases from the bar are not included.

 

Booking

The lead booker is responsible for making all payments to us.  Following the initial deposit, the invoice for the remaining balance will be sent to the lead booker.

Please use the online booking system on our website to make your reservation and pay your deposit.  Your booking will be confirmed by email and you will be required to complete a guest information form for all members of your party.  Only those persons identified on the guest information form may attend the retreat, and any changes to any members of the party must be advised in writing.

You must be over 18 years of age at the time of booking, and have the authority and responsibility to accept all the conditions on behalf of all members of your party.  We reserve the right to refuse a booking and be under no other liability.

 

Payment

A non-refundable deposit must be paid at the time of booking.  

(This will only be refunded if the event is cancelled due to Government Covid 19 restrictions)

Two payment for the remaining balance will be requested by emailed invoices  and full payment must be received no

later than 30th January (March Retreat) or  30th May  (for July Retreat) or 3rd October (for November Retreat) to secure your place. 

We do not issue reminders for remaining balances. 

Any bookings made after 30th January (March Retreat) or 30th May (for July Retreat) or 13rd October (for November Retreat) will require full payment to be made immediately.

Payment will be through Paypal or Stripe (Credit card)

Once you have paid your deposit or payment in full you enter a contract with us which is covered under UK law.

 

Insurance

WE STRONGLY RECOMMEND THAT YOU TAKE OUT YOUR OWN TRAVEL INSURANCE

 

Cancellation

If you need to cancel your booking after paying the full balance, i.e. up to 7 weeks before the start date, you will be entitled to a refund of 50% of the total price.  As stated above, the deposit is non-refundable, unless we have to cancel the event due to Covid 19.

Any bookings cancelled less than 7 weeks before the start date will not be refunded. 

 

If the retreat is cancelled by Wool is the Answer, you will be entitled to a full refund of any monies paid to Wool is the Answer but we will have no further liability or obligation and are not responsible for any other costs you have incurred e.g. travel expenses.

 

Force Majeure

Wool is the Answer cannot accept responsibility or liability for any alterations, delay or cancellation of the event or any other loss or damage caused by war, threat of war, civil strife, terrorist or threatened terrorist action, industrial disputes, natural or nuclear disasters, fire, severe weather, epidemics, pandemics, death of UK monarch and/or their spouse, or any other similar event outside our control.

 

Arrival and Departure

Arrival time on Day 1 is from 3pm and guests are required to check out by 10am on Day 4.  You will need to give an estimated arrival time on the guest information form which will be emailed to you.

 

Damages and breakages

You are responsible and liable for any breakages or damages caused while you occupy your room including any accidents that may occur.  This applies to the whole property throughout your stay.

 

Smoking

Hemswell Court operates a No Smoking policy in all bedrooms and public areas.

 

Car Parking and Personal Property

Cars are left at your own risk and we and Hemswell Court  accept no liability to cars and contents of vehicles left within the grounds of Hemswell Court.

You are responsible for the security of your own possessions whilst on the retreat, Wool is the Answer cannot accept any liability for any losses or damages that may occur.

 

Dietary and Special Requirements

Any dietary requirements or special requests for members of your party must be noted at the time of booking.  If you, or any member of your party has any medical condition or disability that may affect your retreat please tell us before you confirm your booking so that we can advise as to the suitability of this retreat. 

We will endeavour to fulfil any special requests but cannot guarantee that they will be met; failure on our part to meet any special request will not constitute a breach of contract.

We do everything we can to ensure the accuracy of information on our website.  All distances are approximate.

Wool is the Answer is committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected.  Should we ask you to provide certain information by which you can be identified when using this website, then you can be assured that it will only be used in accordance with this privacy statement.

We receive, collect and store any information you enter on our website or provide us in any other way.  In addition we collect the Internet Protocol (IP) address used to connect your computer to the internet, email address and purchase history.  We may use software tools to measure and collect session information, including page response times, length of visit to certain pages, page interaction information and methods used to browse away from the page. 

We also collect personally identifiable information (including name, email communications) and payment details via PayPal and as such we do not see your payment details. We do not accept direct payments by credit or debit card on our website.

When you conduct a transaction on our website, as part of the process we collect personal information you give us such as your name, address and email address. Your personal information will be used to process and deliver your order and also for the specific reasons stated above.

We collect your personal information in order for us to fulfil your order.  We will only send emails in relation to your order or to provide customer assistance.  Marketing campaigns and information regarding products will only be sent via email if you have signed up as a subscriber via our website. 

The emails sent to our subscribers will be of a generic nature and will provide information on products, events and special offers.

We will only ask for essential information from you and we will not disclose this to a third party unless we are required to do so by law.  Our website is hosted by Wix.com platform.  Wix.com provides us with the online platform and allows us to sell our products to you.  Your data may be stored through Wix.com data storage, databases and the general Wix.com applications.  They store your data on secure servers behind a firewall.

All direct payment gateways offered by Wix.com and used by our company adhere to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by PCI Security Standards Council.  We use PayPal to take payments on our website and their privacy policy can be accessed at https://www.paypal.com/en/webapps/mpp/ua/privacy-full .

We reserve the right to modify this privacy policy at any time, so please review it frequently.  Changes and clarifications will take place immediately upon their posting on the website. If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify you on our website that it has been updated.​
